In one living room in suburban Rhode Island, foreshadowing has become disturbingly literal. The shrill blaring of a kettle may be a sign of what lies in store for this New England family. Nextdoor neighbor Ethan Gillum had this to say.
“When I saw them put the pot of water on the stove, I just wasn’t prepared for everything that came with it. The shriek, the steam, the cloying scent in the air, it’s all so much. Too much even.”
