Nashville Middle School Teacher Worryingly Big Hockey Fan
Nashville, Tennessee
Nashville area middle school teacher Bill Volek has concerned staff and parents this week as his fandom continues into the end of the school year. Volek has adorned his classroom with Nashville hockey paraphernalia and memorabilia, as well as regularly wearing team colors and gear to school regardless of prevailing weather conditions or even if Nashville is on the ice that day.
“We love how much Bill supports the team and our community, we just wish he wouldn’t wear the hoodie with the team name on the sleeve to class. When he pats a student on the back… it’s just not a good look for the school.” said school Vice Principal Clement.
Parents began asking questions after the teacher in question participated in the team’s community day last spring, with photos of him in face paint making the rounds on social media.
These concerns have persisted despite Nashville’s lack of a postseason berth, with the team unable to make it out of a historically weak Western conference. This has left bystanders unclear as to what Mr. Volek is still cheering for. Sources that have wished to remain anonymous have expressed that they believe it may be support for the Las Vegas Golden Knights, or at least their goalie.
